During the '81 European tour some unique shows took place at the Melk Weg , in Amsterdam , on the nights of October 11 ( just BW & JG ) , 15 , and 16 ( the last two with the whole band ) . There are many interesting stories of these shows ; from PL guiding a young lady off the stage by gently pushing her in the butt with his bass , to many members not having their instruments and having to play with what was available . The Melk Weg was a small club . Less then 600 people small . Throw that all in the pot , add some just released vids , and a thread it makes .

Here is some of Bob Minkin's photography . He has four galleries on these shows , plus his written account of those nights .

Another reason these dates have a bit a sizzle , is the return of Lovelight after 581 shows ( 5 - 24 - 72 ) and the first BW one ( for some of you at home , I know , I know , it's not Pig ).
Here is Golria -> Lovelight . Have both up b/c waiting on that cut is harsh . Gloria ,

and here is Lovelight ,

And you have to work a tiny bit here for a Baby Blue . This is where PL guides the young lady at 6' or so .

then ,
taste4phree's page comes up > click on uploads to the right > scroll down 40% of the scroll bar space > first Baby Blue is the one from the Melk Weg .
Check this page out . Not all of these vids are available on youtube . Worth your time . Look at the number of views on some .

Finally , due to circumstance , the tapes of these shows are not the best . They are not the worst either . I am going to leave just one , from the 16th .

Have fun .

My buddy and old roommate from college graduated from school the semester before and his folks sent him to Europe for a present. He just happened to be in Amsterdam when the Boys showed up and got to see the first nights performance.

How sweet would that be?? We had seen many shows over those school years and to have them follow you to Europe and unannounced play is the real answer to the bumper sticker "Who are the GD and why do they keep following me?"

I have the videos for all three shows. I got them in a vine from another site quite a while ago. If anyone is interested, email me at stdilbertatgmaildotcom

They are great shows by way.
